Laptop Widescreen problems with FC3
Hello,
I want the 1280x800 resolution on my HP Compaq nx9105 widescreen laptop. I have tried to modify the xorg.conf according to all suggestions I have found. They all suggest adding of lines like the ones below with different numbers instead of "n" of course... What do thoose numbers mean?? and how do I decide what is appropiate for my laptop?? Kind of new in the Linux-world...
In the Section "Monitor"
ModeLine "1280x800" nnn.n nnnn nnnn nnnn nnnn nnn nnn nnn nnn
In the Section "Screen"
Modes "1280x800"
The videocard installed is a nvidia geforce 420 go
Please help! Thanks!

Check this out:
http://xtiming.sourceforge.net/cgi-bin/xtiming.pl
This will generate a modeline for you. I'm still not sure as to what the timings (that's what they are) mean in the modeline, though I've found names for them all.
