How do you boot up on the hard disk?
I have suse linux 9.2, i have installed it but when i boot up it says "Hard disk boot sector invalid" and i then have to boot off the cd! Could someone please tell me whats gone wrong and how to fix it?? Thanks

It sounds like your MBR (master boot record) is messed up. What bootloader are you using?

Sometimes this happens because the installer "sees" the drive geometry incorrectly. If that's the case, switching the drive's type from "auto" or "normal" to "LBA" in the BIOS usually fixes the problem.
There are two major products that come out of Berkeley: LSD and UNIX. We don't believe this to be a coincidence.
