How do you boot up on the hard disk?
Sometimes this happens because the installer "sees" the drive geometry incorrectly. If that's the case, switching the drive's type from "auto" or "normal" to "LBA" in the BIOS usually fixes the problem. There are two major products that come out of Berkeley: LSD and UNIX. We don't believe this to be a coincidence.
