Installation Install on Laptop
I'm getting this error on a laptop trying to start up Mandrake Linux 10.1, which I've just installed. I can't get it to boot successfully.
init init/main.c:718
checking if image is initramfs...it isn't (no cpio magic); looks like an initrd
ACPI: Looking for DSDT in initrd ... not found!
Freeing initrd memory: 171k freed
init init/main.c:724

ACPI: IRQ10 SCI: Edge set to Level Trigger.
It stops there. Does anyone know what this is? I'm wondering about ACPI issues, but I don't know how to fix it.

I'm using lilo actually. Is there a similar command? I can't actually get to a terminal or interface of any kind that is actually useful. Escape gets me to a text based boot menu, but I can't put any useful commands in. My failsafe boot options and the standard one have an error. I should probably have mentioned that what I wrote in my previous post was only the ending of the boot output.
