Running Debian Sarge with KDE 3.3.
If I don't have my laptop plugged in using the AC adapter, sound always fails.
Any ideas?...

Now, this seems really odd...
I will need a whole lot more information before proceeding.
First install Amarok and run it from the command line.
Then try to play a song.
Then quit.
Send me all dialog that goes on in the command line from when you have it plugged in and when it is unplugged.
Hopefully we can get this resolved.
Additionally, why are you using Sarge on a notebook? I just have not seen that great of results with Debian as a desktop os. Dont get me wrong, it kicks ass as a server. Why not use something like Ubuntu?
