3G internet stick on Aspire One :-s

Hi all, im new ish to Linux and also to these USB 3G sticks!

My friend got them and i now have the task of getting the stick working on the laptop.

Can anyone help me?

I have conected the Stick, rebooted and i can now see it in the Connecton manager.

But when i highlight it to connect, the connect button is grayed out!

and when i right click the connection simble in the task back it says 3G then under it says "off"

The stick is the E160 model, he only got them a few days ago, and has only just given me to get them connected.
The SIM is in the stick.

can anyone help?
