Light Linux Portable?
Hello all,
I'm looking for a laptop that is as fully supported as possible under Gentoo linux. The uses will be as follows
- Wireless networking
- DVDRW
- CDRW
- Decent on-board speakers
- Occasional sw development - but will use external monitor - so smallish screen ok.
- very very light weight
- good battery and power control
- TV/Out NTSC/PAL
I've looked at the dell line, and i'm wondering if i can find something smaller and lighter.

Sony makes small multi functional laptops. They have premium prices. Support may not be as good as Thinkpad for instance. I have experience with Thinkpads. IBM/Lenovo provides some support and drivers for Linux. You might consider looking at the Thinkpad offerings.
