Hello,

I am trying to install Vector Linux 5.1 Standard on a HP Pavillion with 700 mhz processor and 512 mb ram when i boot from the cd i get the message::

CPU 0:machine Check Exception:000000000000007
Bank 3: b4000000000083b at 00000001fc009c80
Kernel panic - not syncing: Unable to continue



does anyone have any idea how to get around this message or if the install can be completed at all?
