Dell Inspiron 1100 Laptop
Ubuntu: Hoary Hedgehog Distro

I have tried the explanation given in the Screen Resolution Post, but everything says 1024 x 768. The only thing that I can think of is that the display is only a generic one.

I used Redhat breifly before moving to Ubuntu, and I managed to change that to the DELL LAPTOP DISPLAY 1024 x 768 without issue, I couldnt find the same option in Ubuntu.

Any assistance greatly appreciated - But I warn you now that I have ZERO experience in Linux - I was surprised at the ease of installation
