Help: SuSE10 & Sony Vaio VGN-T1
Hi, SuSE 10 has perfectly detected everything on this laptop inc bluetooth and wireless. However the display is hopeless. It should be 1280x768 WXGA but it is just a small square in the middle of the screen regardless of which resolution I select. I've tried lots and lots of different combinations inc setting the screen size in mm to the actual size of the screen. But no joy.
Before I give in and put XP back on (not that I purchased the optional restore CD) can anyone help???
thanks,
Nik

run sax2 from the command line as root, select the monitor as a generic lcd monitor e.g. 15" lcd @ 1280x768 or whatever. And make sure the little box in the bottom left corner says 16/9 or 16/10 aspect ratio.
Life is complex, it has a real part and an imaginary part.

Hi, that didn't work - but thanks for trying anyway!
However, I did suss it with help from this forum: A util called 855resolution was needed that was actually already installed by SuSE, it just wasn't configured or running at boot time.
Anyway, it works a treat....
