FedoraCore 4 on IBM R50e acting crazy

Hi there I have installed Fedora Core 4 on my IBM Thinkpad r50e laptop.

The video card is an Intel 852, which fedora detects very well. The problem lies here, when ever I get into the GUI by running the command startx (in run level 3), It works fine, but when I exit from the GUI, either the display blanks out or the system hangs, I am forced to reboot.

Also how to configure ACPI, i just want Suspend and hibernate to work

    Please help.

    Regards

    AC
