Closing the Lid
I'm running Ubuntu (Breezy) and whenever I close the lid on my laptop, it shuts off the screen, like it's supposed to, but when I open it back up, the screen doesn't turn back on. I tried messing around with the lid.sh file in /etc/acpi/, but that just made things worse, and so I returned it to normal.
Right now, looking at the lid.sh contents, it seems like it runs xscreensaver - but something seems to be overriding it, because the monitor is turning off. I sort of just want the computer to "sleep," but not completely turn off.
How would I do this?
<edit> I found this, but I'm not sure it will work - because I'm on an Inspiron 6000.
