ALC260 > No Sound ?!

Hello,

my Problem is that I have no sound on my Sony Vaio VGN A317M (using SuSe Linux 10.1),
The Soundcard is an Realtek ALC260 with HD Codec.
I googled a while till I found that it should be repaired by using new ALSA drivers.
So I downloaded them and startet the automatically installation. I was telled that there is no Soundcard found.

Now when I try to start the Kmix or ALSA mixer Gui nothing happens, I click on it but nothing starts...
Can anyone tell me what to do? I dont want to boot to Windows only because of the Sound?!
I'm a noob so please don't write to complicated.

I've just tried to run Alsamixer via console:
gatesmachine:~ # alsamixer
alsamixer: error while loading shared libraries: libasound.so.2: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

could that help?

The correct driver should be Intel ICH southbridge HD-audio. Is that the one you downloaded? I don't know why it isn't working out of the book with Suse
