Hi all,
I have a laptop with the following specs:

I have tried to install/boot from CD many versions of Linux with no COMPLETE success. Is there any common problems with this type of laptop?
Thanks ahead of time..

Can you give a little more details ?
Which Linux distribution did you try ? As this is a fairly recent machine, you'll have better luck with a recent distro (Ubuntu 6.10, OpenSUSE 10.1, Mandriva 2007, Debian Etch, etc.).
Tuxmobil and Linux on Laptops are the places to go if you want to find out how other people did with the same laptop.
An example here :

Yea - it would make more sense finding something newer, just wasn't sure where to start. I'm more interested in a version that I can boot from a CD into my RAM. I've already tried: Knoppix 5.01, Slax 5.1.8 and Puppy. I burned all the CD's correctly and made it through the first few "loading..." screens but it either hangs or the screen goes blank - even after waiting for 15 minutes or so. I've also tried installing other versions onto a freshly formatted and partitioned hard-drive with no success. It has to be the laptop!
