Brightness Control on HP Pavillion 5385
I have Mandrake running on HP Pavillion ze5385us with Win XP-Pro on other partition. There are buttons on my notebook for brightness control. They work fine in Windows but do not work in Linux. Please help...

I can't help much but I'm pretty sure it's to do with ACPI.
( That is, you need it.)

You should take a look at the Omnibook module (it's not just for Omnibooks, but for laptops that are really made by Compal, e.g., HP, some Toshiba Satellites, Acers. While I understand that the new HP's will be Compaq's, if it is a pre-merger HP laptop, the Omnibook module should work wonders for power management, buttons, etc. It is available on sourceforge: sourceforge.net/projects/omke/
