Display resolution problem
Hi,
I'm having a btof a problem with my new laptop.
First after setup I only had had 800x600 resolution and after playing around with the xorg.conf I got the resolution up to 1280x800. But I would like it to go up to 1440x900 and no matter how much I play around with the x setting it only goes up to 1280x800.
My laptop is a Toshiba Satelite P100-257.
Any ideas anyone?

Maybe your card cant handle that resolution at 24 depth, try setting the line that says DefaultDepth 24
to DefaultDepth 16
Be aware that 24 means 32 when you use Linux and 16 means 24.
YOu may also need to chnage some stting in your BIOS
Hope this helps.Put your hand in an oven for a minute and it will be like an hour, sit beside a beautiful woman for an hour and it will be like a minute, that is relativity. --Albert Einstein

Aha, ok thanks. I did not know that about the depth. But I know that the monitro supports 1440x900 becose I can have this resolution on other systems.
I'll try to play around with it in the tomorow.
Thanks again
