Can anyone please comment on whether this looks like a good deal and suitable for LInux

£299 ex VAT without operating system - seems very reasonable for a new laptop with a decent spec and the principle of not contributing to Windows coffers has to be pretty appealing - even if it is only saving £40 on Vista. Any reasons not to go for this please?

300 quid==540 US: for that on eBay you'll find some interesting machines
including IBM thinkpad X30/T23/A31p: better ergs, good support....built to last
and no maker has better *nix commitment than IBMthe sun is new every day (heraclitus)
