Getting Linux working Properly on a Mid-2011 Macbook Pro?
Hi everyone, I'm trying to use Ubuntu 11.10 on my Macbook Pro. I cannot get it to work correctly. I'm having so many problems it's rediculous:
-Wireless does not work. I followed this tutorial exactly, with no errors, but It still doesn't work. I may be mistaken about which wireless card I have. I couldn't find a tutorial for 11.10, only 11.04 "ubuntubuzz.com/2011/10/macbook-pro-wireless-broadcom-bcm4331.html"
-The trackpad doesn't work properly. I can't drag windows.
-bluetooth mouse does not work
-doesn't work correctly with an external monitor. Windows snap halfway down the screen.
-trying to install Google Chromium via apt-get or software center gives me an error when connected to ethernet.
Is there another Full-fledged Linux distro (Ubuntu-based if possible, or maybe Fedora) that will work correctly with little or no tweaking?
If not, is there any way to get it working properly? As far as I can tell, the wireless card is a broadcom 4331, but I could be wrong.
If it matters, Ubuntu is not on the main hard drive, it's on a second hard drive installed in place of the CD drive.
Thanks in advance.
