IBM Thinkpad R50e - A good purchase?

Hello all fellow Linux users :)

I'm thinking of getting a laptop, and after doing some research I've found an IBM Thinkpad R50e to a reasonable price. )I've googled some, and found some resource sites on how to install Linux on it. But I'm looking for some more vocal suggestions...

Is it a good Linux-laptop?

Looks nice. I don't think you should have much problems. I've got linux running on an old laptop, P3 800 Mhz, 128 Mb RAM, a cheap pcmcia wireless lan card, ... If you run across problems, we'll try to help :)

Looks perfect, I have an IBM A30 laptop and it works flawlessly with linux. IBM's are really good for linux compatiblity and sometimes IBM have linux dirvers on their website. Definently go for this. IBM make superior laptops in my opinion. They are always Incredibly sturdy, extremely stable, have lucious keyboards and great battery life.
