IBM Thinkpad R50e - A good purchase?

I'm thinking of getting a laptop, and after doing some research I've found an IBM Thinkpad R50e to a reasonable price. )I've googled some, and found some resource sites on how to install Linux on it. But I'm looking for some more vocal suggestions...
