It is possible, but it's certainly not easy. I recently installed Ubuntu on a MacBook Pro and a Dell Inspiron 1520. Here's what happened:Quote:

Ok, so what you're going to do is a little different than what I did. I seem to remember reading an article from a guy who wanted to have just Linux on his MBP...
Your main difficulty with most how-tos out there is they're going to rely on BootCamp, which is no longer freely available. Does your Apple still have a Mac OS on it at this time?
Yup, I still have my OS X in my box
My main concern is getting CentOS working with EFI, which is different from the traditional BIOS you find on most PCs these days. You might consider (at least for the time being) setting up a dual-boot with OS X and CentOS and boot between them using rEFIt, like I did.Quote:
