Underclcock a GeForce Go 6150 on Ubuntu 11.10
So my laptop's GPU is running really hot. I mean really hot. Sometimes it reaches 130 degrees Celsius. Right now it's at about 119 degrees. I think it might have something to do with the fact that I took the laptop apart (to try to fix something) a while back, and put it back together. I don't know. Anyway, I don't have the time to re-take it apart, so as a temporary fix, I want to underclock the GPU significantly. I tried the trick with CoolBits to the Nvidia setting utility would let me set my clock speed. It doesn't seem to work. Here is my xorg.conf:
What am I doing wrong? The "Clock Frequencies" tab doesn't show up!
