You will need to get a partitioning OS on Live CD, like "GParted" for one, burn to CD, then boot it up, and delete the partition

however I've never tried it, so I'm just going from what I've read

Hi and Welcome to the LinuxForums !
Is there any OS installed in Hard Disk? In that case, you have to remove GRUB from MBR and delete Freespire Partitions.
If there isn't any other OS in your HD, just insert Installation CD/DVD of other OS and start installation. Installer will remove Freespire.

Welcome to the forums!

If by chance you want to install another Linux distribution, you can simply install it right over the Freespire install using the same partition(s).
