Songbird help?

I am using Mandriva 2009.1 KDE 4.2
I heard about Songbird and decided to try it, seeing as I can't get anything to sync with my Sansa Clip.
On the Songbird Wiki they say that the player is supported.
On their help forum they say that in order to sync you simply need to click the device.
Well, it doesn't show up. I can't see the device.
This might be because it appears that Songbird only supports MTP devices, but I have libmtp! (Both libmtp8 and libmtp-utils).
However, now that I tried it, my computer will not recognize the player when it is plugged in in MTP mode, but only in MSC mode.
Could this be the problem? If so, how do I fix it?
