Is there an open source equivalent of MS access?
Sorta like all the openoffice stuff- one that can read/write MS files.

And if so, where can I find it?

the next version of open office will be adding its own version of access database might be something to look into. i am not sure if it can look at the Access files but due to the fact that you can already open any other M$ file with it it stands to reason you will beable to do the same with the open office version of access as well.

in the new openoffice.org there will be an access-alike application, based on some java thingie

I've heard it works quite well, and it appears the files that it creates can be imported into MySQL

if this dbms works with M$ mdb files, I'm sure it'll be a great addition o openoffice
