Running Mdk 10.1 official and Kde on an Athlon machine. I just got the Rosegarden book and I'm keen to get stuck in. Installed RG from disk, along with all dependencies (jack, lib files etc). When I try to run it the RG splash screen comes up but then nothing further happens. I tried loading from a console but got no error messages - after a short pause it just goes back to the prompt.

So I did ctrl+esc and what do you know, Rosegarden and Rosegardenesque are in the process table, but not using any system resources.

Any help to get this up and running would be much appreciated, otherwise I've wasted money on the book!

Apologies to all - I restarted my computer and then Rosegarden worked fine. No doubt I will have further questions as I try to get it to make some sound!
