xming, putty, switching users

I am connecting to a Linux server using Xming and putty on a Windows PC (necessary since Oracle does not provide collaborative support directly with Linux). If I login as a user and try XWindow features such as xclock it works fine. If I "su -" as a another user and then try XWindow I get "Xlib: PuTTY X11 Proxy: wrong authentication protocol attempted". Can anyone tell me what is going on here?

"xhost +" has been run.

Thanks,
Steve

If you use su - rather than su you are enabling the path of the other user. If possible I would exclude that option which should allow you to continue using the same X session.

I have never tried the option you mentioned. Do you have any details on that?

Thanks,
Steve
