Goldenstallion Just Joined! Join Date: Jul 2009 Location: Hyderabad,India Posts: 4	Problem Loading X Window I used startx to start X Window. It gave a message that I was running the session as a previeged user and all the stuff about security risks. Anyways I was logged in as su.........I selected continue............and then it all froze..........I waited for a along time but nothing worked......I had to force switch off my laptop. I don't think I have a memory problem as I have 2 GB of RAM. Please help me out. P.S.: I am a Mint user.

ozar Super Moderator Join Date: May 2004 Posts: 12,058	Welcome to the forums! Some distros disable logging into the GUI as root user, and for good reason. You should only log into the GUI as a regular user and then you can use su or sudo to run any needed administrative tasks. __________________ oz New Members: * README *
