miscreant Just Joined! Join Date: Apr 2003 Location: Atlanta Posts: 7	nVidia driver changes resolution Hey, I currently have my laptop (Toshiba Satellite 5105-S701) running pretty well. However, I have switched back the generic nvidia drivers that came with x because when I use the ones from nvidia, I can't get 1600x1200 resolution. I'm wondering if maybe the refresh rates are wrong, but then why would the old drivers work and not the new ones? I'm really only changing "nvidia" to "nv" in my XF86Config file. Anyone know if I'm doing something wrong, or should I just forget about it since I can get the resolution anyway. Miscreant

Dolda2000 Linux Guru Join Date: Oct 2001 Location: Täby, Sweden Posts: 7,578	Try to switch back to the nvidia driver, start X once and then check your /var/log/XFree86.0.log for the reason why it deleted the 1600x1200 mode.
