Will KDE 3.5.5 be too slow?

Will KDE 3.5.5 be too slow for my computer? Its a Dell Dimension Desktop, Pentium III 1.8ghz processor with 512 mb system RAM and 64 mb video RAM.

BTW, this is on a live-cd.

LiveCDs tend to run slow anyway, in my opinion.

They are good for seeing what Linux looks like, and for using in emergency situations, but I prefer hard disk installation for real Linux. I don't personally think KDE will run overly slow on your machine, though.

It's a live CD, so the worst that will happen is your computer can't handle it and you have to re-boot. I've had some live CD's give me a screen of dots on some computers and work flawlessly on others. It really just depends it the live cd works with your graphics card.

From what I've read, you should be more than fine.

you've been warned

I tried Knoppix on my old XP laptop after my cousin's husband dared me to try something new. I was a diehard Windows man. Now I wouldn't go back to Winbloat if you paid me.
You have been warned
