Newsletter 2/11/09

That's right! Thanks to MAS Media, our new owners, Linuxforums is now on blazing fast new hardware! We listened to the various speed issues people were having, and we did something about it. We will attempt to send out newsletters on a quarterly basis to keep YOU up to date with the latest happenings.

Southern California Linux Exposition
Linuxforums is sponsoring the Southern California Linux Expo! This expo is located near LAX for those who fly in and is run by a group of volunteers. So what? Because it is run by volunteers, the conference isn't as commercialized as other conferences! The price is great, the talks are all included in the price, and don't forget all the raffles and SWAG (the best part). Last year, SCALE had over 1500 attendees! Check out the schedule here: Schedules | Southern California Linux Expo ... wait, there's more! Use the promo code LForg and pay $42 instead of $70! That's 40% off!

Linux Articles
Don't forget, you can write about Linux AND get paid! Private message MatthewGx and he'll set you up with everything you need to know about writing. Some of our latest articles include Linux Goes Green and Package Management and we have several more in line! Check the front page frequently for soon to be fresh content!

Survey
Here's your chance to win a new Linux based Netbook! MAS Media wants to better understand you and your needs, they'd like you to fill out a survey here: LinuxForums Survey
There are even secondary prizes of free hosting for one whole year.

Live Chat
Don't forget about the live chat! Go here for the web version: IRC Chat - Linux Forums - You can use the info on that page to connect from an IRC client. We hope to see you there!

See you at SCALE,

Matthew Gallizzi
