Post count adjustments

Just a quick note to say that:
  • Posts made in the Coffee Lounge will no longer count towards your post count
  • The total number of each user's existing posts in the coffee lounge have been subtracted from their post count. Accordingly, some of you may notice your post count is decreased.
  • Please do not begin posting crap in non-coffee lounge threads just to bump your post count or I will reset your post count to 0
These changes are a result of suggestions and feedback in this thread.

J.

I just reached 100 posts and a penguin and now it's all gone I do understand the reasoning though. It's just, just so sad...

Makes perfect sence really Jason as this is LINUX FORUM therefore any rating of a user's contribution to the site should be based on their Linux input.

Do you think it's worth posting a thread in the coffee lounge linking people to this thread as I'm not sure how many people come to 'Linux Forums Site News' section? just a thought to try and prevent any "where have all my posts gone" threads starting up.

That's a good idea. I've posted a thread in there pointing to this announcement. Hopefully more people will read it that way. I've already recieved one angry PM asking about it.

Hey Jason, thanks for doing this... just wanted to let you know I'm 100% in support of this implementation.

I think the best solution is not having a rating system in the first place

Great idea. Specially to substract all the previous coffee lounge posts...
I enjoy wrinting in the coffee lounge forum and I will keep doing it. This section will only get better without the one posting there only to hunt penguins...
