This is excellent news, and I hope it points towards an increase in Linux's userbase.

Wowza, that number is difficult to comprehend. If it's true, that is all kinds of awesome.

Given the slopes of the curves of the lines upon graphs pertaining to signup dates and such as they pertain or correlate to membership numbers vs. forum age, um *squeak*, o revered admins and such, maybe can I get this "Just Joined!" thing taken off my profile?

Pretty, pretty please?

Yes, you can... if you are active enough on the forums.

So what actually dictates when you get promoted? Time logged in or post count?

It's based on post count:

I have been active. You see, I think that the problem is that the Internet, which can be like PacMan, has been eating my posts. I would swear I had at _least_ something like 50 posts here last time I made a mental note of such things.

Posts in the Coffee Lounge don't count toward your total, so if you have many there they weren't counted, or you may have lost that part of your count back when Jason Lambert changed the Coffee Lounge settings.

Here's why Linux is easier than Windows:
Package Managers! Apt-Get and Portage (among others) allow users to install programs MUCH easier than Windows can.
Hardware Drivers. In SuSE, ALL the hardware is detected and installed automatically! How is this harder than Windows' constant disc changing and rebooting?
