Fedora Core 9 CPU frequency scaling unsupported

Hi,

Just wondering if anyone else is having issues with cpu scaling on intel core 2 cpu's? I have only recently bought an Intel core 2 (E4600) as a trial and I am finding the cpu scaling a bugger to get working.

I have tried both Ubuntu and FC9 (currently running FC9).

I have supplied cpuinfo, lsmod and packages installed.

/var/log messages does not seem to give me any indication of where else to check.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Have you enabled it in your BIOS? I found the same problem with two recent Intels and only later realised that the motherboard had it disabled by default. After that it's automatic and should be OS independant, it's based on usage rather than explicit instructions as far as I'm aware.
