Hugemem kernel required
We have one physical server with 32 GB RAM . I need to install RHEL 32 bit OS on this machine.But the "SMP" kernel supports a maximum of 16 GB of main memory.
Systems with more than 16 GB of main memory use "HugeMem" kernel .But x86 "Hugemem" Kernel is not provided in RHEL 5.

How can i have " Hugemem" kernel. which version of RHEL will support this? Kindly suggest a solution to my query please

If enabling the PAE extensions in the BIOS don't let you use more than 16GB then I think you are stuck with the 64-bit system. Is there any reason why you cannot run a 64-bit RHEL? It will run existing 32-bit applications just fine.
