Problem in getting SD/MMC slot working

Hi all,
I have a dell inspiron 1525 laptop. I have lot of kernel (2.6.24 ,26, 28 ,30) installed on the machine. All the kernel except 2.6.30 recognises an SD card when I insert a SD card into the slot. Any ideas? I tries
Code:
modprobe sdhci
. But it did not help.

Thanks in Advance.
Tony

hardware support is typically better in newer versions of kernels so this doesn't surprise me, that being said, I would be surprised that even in the .24 kernel there wasn't support for this, are you sure you built support as a module?

But in my case it is the other way round.. All the older kernels support SD(24, 26, 2 But the newest one 2.6.30 seem to have problem. If I have not built to support module, would I be able to modprobe sdhci and mmc? I checked the config file and shows
Code:
CONFIG_MMC_SDHCI=m
. Would it be possible to update and rebuild the kernel I am alraedy using?

I would check kernel mailing lists, maybe there was a bug with regards to this driver in that kernel version. Are you using latest minor revision of 2.6.30 (2.6.30.9)?

Send a message via MSN to TeoEnMing
I can't use the SD/MMC slot in Ubuntu Netbook Remix on Asus eee PC as well.
