books on Linux kernel programming development

Hi all,
I've searched the forum, but couldn't find a satisfactory answer for this. Sorry I've to post this question again.
I'm a green hand in kernel programming, does anyone know any good books or other resources on practical Kernel programming, development?

Hope this thread could become a good collection of quality resources on kernel programming. Recommended development tools like kernel debugger, or visualization software, user mode linux are also good to be put here if you find them of great help.

(P.S.Someone told me the kernel changes rapidly, and old books usually don't work so well... )

Thanks.
