Unable to go to Graphical Login via NVIDIA

Hi,
I had RedHat8.0 installed on Dell Inspiron 2650 for a year now. Now I am having problems with NVIDIA drivers .I am Unable to go to my graphical Login.I have tried to reinstall the NVIDIA DRIVERS( NVIDIA_kernel-1.0-4191.rh80up.rpm and NVIDIA_GLX-1.0-4191.rpm ) from the source as well as RPM's but i get the same error which i got from my /var/log

"Fatal server error :could not open "default font fixed".

I have also tried to reconfigure using XF86CONFIG ,but the server crashes saying BOGUS DDCPROBE values.

PLS HELP ME IN THIS REGARD .WHAT IS THE CORRECT SOLUTION FOR THIS

Thanks

Google gave this.

chmod a+r /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/misc/fonts.alias
service xfs restart

Might be worth a try?

XFS dead but pid file exists.......

Thanks,i tried as suggested but it seems the XFS server is not working.
the command
"service xfs status" gave the following response:

XFS dead but pid file exists.......

also the XFS fails to shutdown when issuing the command
service xfs restart

Any suggestions how to fix this ??
THanks
