This allows me to remote control the laptop when i leave it switched on at home. I can then remote to it from work our any other internet pc. Is there a linux version to allow me to remote to my linux netbook

There's a Java client for LogMeIn that will work in Linux. It's just a browser plug-in for Firefox.
