need help deciding on a distro

im using an hp ze5375 or ze5300(it was made for a landsing company and it says 5300 on the screen but on the back it says 5375 and 5375 wireless drivers are the ones that work) that i bought preowned works uber fast wireless built in and tested on knoppix and it works and was wondering what is a great distro on the laptop for newbs

i personally use suse 10.0 on my laptop a dell lattitude cpx,650cpu,256ram 12gig hdd,belkin wireless card & it runs smoothly, very rarely have any probs (only when i start tweaking a.k.a. fiddling)
