PCMCIA Parallel support?

Hello - I am trying to find out if Parallel port PCMCIA cards work well under linux. I did some research and it seems that the old pcmcia support (<=2.4) had a list of supported cards. Until I find out that the list was only for 2.4 and lower kernels I was shocked because the list only had 3 cards.

The newer 2.6 linux PCMCIA webpage doesnt have a list of supported cards. Also, parallel pcmcia cards aren't exactly the hot topic of discussion on most forums. I compiled parport_pc, but is that used for PCMCIA cards or just built-in ports?

My question is: what are the odds of me buying a cheap PCMCIA parallel card working under a recent linux kernel?
