My laptop had a 10 Gb HD and I just got a new 100 Gb one. I also got a USB to SATA cable and power supply thinking I could use this along with AIR to copy the disk.

I cqan feel that the new HD is powered up and running and the USB adapter is lit up but I cannot find the drive. I know if I plug in a flash drive I can see it in /MEDIA.

Does anyone know if I can get this to work ar suggest another way of doing this?

Which Linux distro do you have? Execute fdisk -l command in Terminal/Konsole and check if it lists partitions of new HD.

I am running Fedora 7

I get:

I did a search on USB device ID 152d:2338 and got some mention of needing driver zd1211b.ko. These posts were sort of old I a saw that someone said it had been put into the kernel
