[SOLVED] $100 question.. best distro for older laptop?

There are obviously going to be lots of views on this but I tried puppy on my PII, 128Mb, Tecra 8000 and it kept on hanging. I then tried Deli which installed great but getting the USB working was not easy and I still have not got the sound working.

All I want is a laptop to allow my daughter to surf the web, pick up her emails and run MSN (NB: I tried installing AMSN but kept getting a TCL error )

I have a T8000 but only has 92M RAM, both DSL and Xubuntu work on the machine. My daughter uses xubuntu for acessing MSN ... it was pretty easy to setup for this. Xubuntu runs a bit slow on the system because of the RAM. I'd try Xubuntu if I were you and see if it runs fast enough. I got a PCMCIA card with Ethernet to give net access - Xubuntu recognised this no problem.
