wifi card failure

alright rundown on my sitiation,
i have laptop (dell, inspiron 1501) it had vista on it
the only thing good about it is its easy to get rid of
laptop now runs on xubuntu and my wifi card does not work
everything else does just not my wifi card

im out of idears on this one

Can you post details? Run the following commands in a terminal and post back the results.

Still, we need to see the results of bigtom's commands... Especially lspci, with the card inserted. Can you get online with a ethernet cable plugged in?
