The extra keys

is it possible to use these keys(volume,search,browser...) in linux?

Yes. You can install a application called "xbindkeys" (get if from freshmeat.net) that, well the name says it all, bind your keys to certian commands. Like, the audio button can be used to start up xmms etc.
