Proxy Server

Hi Does anyone know of a free proxy and web filter that will run on linux we are using one at the moment that we have to pay for that runs on windows xp but it is not a proxy server it only sniffs the packets this has also got to be compatable with netware so that it can log the users

If the "web filter" means blocking bad sites based on their urls, squid would definitely be on the top of the recommend list. I would also recommend MySAR ,a mysql-based squid log analyzer to go along with.
If you need more than that, for example, content filtering, malicious code/virus detection and filtering, then you need to look elsewhere.
