kuday Just Joined! Join Date: Jul 2009 Posts: 2	enbaling all the CPU's We had RHEL 2.1 AS with 4 CPUs but only 1 CPU was enabled. Even after upgrading it to RHEL 5, it is still enabling only 1 CPU. Do we need to run any additional rpm to enable all 4 CPU? The process followed was booted the Vm with LINUX 5 cd and entered "linux upgradeany" then it prompted the kernel to be upgraded and we selected the kernel to upgrade the LINUX to RHEL5. Please suggest where was the problem?why i am not able to get all the CPU's enabled.

Posts: 2,511	Are you talking about a virtual machine guest OS, or the host system? From your original posting, it looks to me like you are only getting 1 CPU in your VM. You might need to upgrade your virtual machine manager software to support more than one CPU for a guest OS. __________________ Sometimes, real fast is almost as good as real time.
