SSH Client session on a Knoppix 3.6 Linux OS

Hello guys.....

I'm a new member at this forum and also a new user of the Linux Operating System...by the way very intriguing OS ......

Well Im trying to establish an SSH Client session from a Windows PC onto a KNOPPIX 3.6 Linux SSH Server. I'm able to establish a connection but when it asks me for the "Log in" example "User ID and Password" It denies me.. I thought I was keying in the right User account but I guess not. Does anyone know what the problem could be? Either I didn't add the User account correctly on the Knoppix OS SSH Server or maybe some type of misconfiguration that I'm not aware about.

Thanks,
User1

well when I first started the SSH Server it asks me for a password and I typed in "password"

so when I tried to Log In I typed User id> "knoppix", Password> "password" and it fails me.

where do you want me to type it ?

Under the LogIn as prompt when I'm trying to establish a SSH Connection or do you mean under the Knoppix root console in order to create a valid User?

I did type in passwd knoppix and then it asked me to type in a New Unix password....which I did and then I retyped it for verification.

I then assume I need to type the User account "Knoppix" and then the new password when I establish a SSH Client seession but it fails prompting me "ACCESS DENIED".

It depressing.....
