gyuriho Just Joined! Join Date: May 2006 Posts: 9	Help! Scientific Atlanta Webstar Modem Hi everyone! I have recently upgraded my Gentoo system from kernel 2.6.12-r10 to 2.6.16-r7, being able to boot both kernels. My problem is with my scientific atlanta webstar cable modem, wich works perfectly with the kernel 2.6.12, and when booting the 2.6.16 kernel, i have no interface eth0. The drivers are compiled as kernel modules, in both situations are loaded (usbnet and cdc_acm). But when booting the 2.6.16 kernel dmesg \| grep eth0 outputs nothing. Help please!!!

gyuriho Just Joined! Join Date: May 2006 Posts: 9	Solved! the 2.6.16-r7 kernel needed the cdc_ether module.
