ndiswrapper window driver installation problem

Hi, currrently i had install nidswrapper into my fedora and i had bought a Belkin Wireless G USB Network Adapter.

By according to the ndiswrapper link below:
http://ndiswrapper.sourceforge.net/m...index.php/List

Part of message obtained from the above link:

# Card: Belkin Wireless G USB Network Adapter
* Chipset: Unsure
* usbid: 050d:705c
* Driver: On the CD at /files/Driver/blkwgu.inf
* Other: run ndiswrapper -i blkwgu.inf on CD, copy blkwgu.sys to same directory as ndiswrapper puts the inf file. bring up device. Had problem not being able to use restricted mode and had to switch to open WEP. Works once i made the switch, pretty straightforward.

I had followed the instruction above to install the .inf file and the result only show driver installed present, but didn't show hardware present althought i have connected my adapter.

Besides that, the instruction ask me to copy copy blkwgu.sys to same directory as ndiswrapper puts the inf file. But i cannot find any blkwgu.sys from the cd. Those files present in the cd under Driver folder are :
BLKWGU2K.sys BLKWGU9X.sys BLKWGU.inf Driver.2K Driver.ME
BLKWGU64.sys BLKWGU.CAT BLKWGUXP.sys Driver.98

Did anyone have any ideas about this ? Please help me if you know this. Your helps are much appreciated.

Thank you.

I have solve this problem in my fedora core 4 and the following are the steps:

a) install the usb driver to detect your usb hardware first
Program name: usbutils-0.71-2.1.i386.rpm
Link: http://mirror.eas.muohio.edu/fedora/...s/Fedora/RPMS/

b) just use the driver from the cd given and use the latest version
of ndiswrapper (1.3. , but i found that i cannot shut down my pc
properly when i use ndiswrapper. If i didn't use then got no problem.

Then everything will goes smooth as usual.

Hi wahaha,

Sorry for the late reply....I've been fighting with ubuntu but I think that Martin has got it solved although he corrupted his MBR so he has to get that fixed, however, I know that I am nowhere near getting it to work on ubuntu. It won't even install! Here's teh big long error I get (the error message is too long to post lol so here is the last few lines!):

loadndisdriver.c:591: warning: implicit declaration of function ‘closelog’
make[1]: *** [loadndisdriver] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory `/home/qmark/ndiswrapper-1.41/utils'
make: *** [install] Error 2
root@qmark-linux:/home/qmark/ndiswrapper-1.41#

I did everything as a SU anf followed the various guides online. Guess im going to have to rely on Martin to sort me out lol!

Tim

tim_wright , thats because you don't have the kernel libraries loaded, goto software management and add the kernal libraries for you version of linux. Also when i was registering ndiswrapper i needed to install ggp too.

Have fun.
Timz.
