generic server for all application layear protocols using multi threading

hi,
i need to write a generic server program for all the application layear protocols like FTP,HTTP,SMTP using multi threading concept.how i will go for writing such generic server for all protocol.please help me.

Why on earth would you want to do this? Surely it's easier to install Apache, ftpd and Sendmail? As these are seperate applications, you get multi-threading built in.

This wouldn't be a homework question would it?
