How to create image using PQDI boot disk? (rhel v2.1)

First of all, is a PQDI disk for windows also works for linux (rhel v2.1), i.e., can i use to create an image for linux (ext2) partition?

Ok, I have installed red hat enterprise linux v2.1 booting up no problem. now i want to create an image of it.

So I inserted the PQDI v5.5 boot disk and start my system (I used this disk to create/restore Window's image no problem), and I can get into the menu without a problem.

However, when i click on "create image" and select where to place my image, I cannot find anything except A: and CDROM! I cannot find the linux partition I want to create an image for. How can I get around this? I cannot even find another partition (Windows partition with NTFS) as well.

Any words or suggestions are apperciated. Thanks!

Am I the only one who doesn't have a clue what PQDI means?

Would you mind clarifying, namgor?

PQDI is... Power Quest Drive Image
it is used to take the image of a harddisk
so if i want to revert the system's back to a state I want 5 days ago (i took an image), i can do so in 5 minutes!!!

Norton Ghost for Linux do similar things!

Power Quest Partition Magic knows all the formats. So that can't be the problem.

First of all you need FAT32 partition to dump your new created image to.
Second. Burn this image to cd or dvd if possible,

Hello I got an update , altho I am still stuck !!

I got a boot disk from the tech support which map to a network drive so I can dump the image to (FAT32). Problem is, as soon as it starts to create the image, it gives an error:

Code:
Error #1211
Block 49556 has incorect block count
Press ok
Code:
Error #1201
Ext2 superblock contains ilegal information
the partition is ext2 , which is PQDI-friendly. And also, I have been told to run fdisk /mbr. I did, but it didnt help.

Thanks for any inputs, coz I am soooo confused.

Maybe PQDI is too old. It might not recognize newer versions of ext2 (that is, with more feature flags). Can't you get more info out of it (like detailed error messages and whatnot)?

Try to get a newer version of PQDI. Like 8.0, because I've tried it with 6.0 and it has the same problem. The problem is solved with 8.0
